Climate Science 101
  • It’s Warming (1)
  • It’s Us (2)
  • We’re Sure (3)
  • It’s Bad (4)
  • We Can Fix It (5)
  • Carbon Fee and Dividend Will Help (6)
  1. IPCC AR5 WG1: “Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia.”
  2. IPCC AR5 WG1: “It is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause”
    • For the IPCC, "extremely likely means 95% - 100% probability”
  3. NASA: “Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree”
  4. IPCC AR5 Synthesis: “high to very high risk of severe, widespread, and irreversible impacts globally.”
  5. IPCC AR5 WG1: “Limiting climate change will require substantial and sustained reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.”
  6. Regional Economic Models, Inc Report.:  During the first 20 years the Carbon Fee and Dividend policy from Citizens Climate Lobby would lead to:
  • A 50% reduction of carbon emissions below 1990 levels, and dropping rapidly
  • The addition of 2.8 million jobs and $1.375 trillion in GDP from economic stimulus of the dividend
The avoidance of 230,000 premature deaths due to reduction in air pollutants
